How to test your microphone
This microphone test shows a live input level meter so you can confirm your mic is picking up sound. Everything is processed locally with the Web Audio API, so no audio is recorded, stored or sent anywhere. If you have several microphones you can switch between them and compare levels.
- 1Press Start test and allow microphone access when your browser asks.
- 2Choose the microphone you want to check from the list.
- 3Speak normally and watch the level meter move.
- 4If the bar reacts to your voice, your microphone is working.
FAQ
Is my audio recorded or uploaded?
No. The audio never leaves your device. It is analysed in your browser and discarded immediately.
Why does nothing happen when I speak?
Check that you selected the right device, that the mic is not muted in your operating system, and that the browser has permission.
I accidentally blocked access, how do I fix it?
Click the padlock icon in the address bar, reset the microphone permission for this site, then reload the page.
